Today, Dr. Simon Sutcliffe resigned his position as President and Chief
Executive Officer of the Ontario Cancer Institute/Princess Margaret Hospital.
(Toronto February 20, 1996) Dr. Sutcliffe led the organization in the past
three years through a major reengineering, the construction of a new facility
and the move to that new facility on University Avenue.
"The board accepts Dr. Sutcliffe's resignation with regret," said
Mr. Peter Crossgrove. "Dr. Sutcliffe has made many valuable contributions
to OCI/PMH and has been supportive of all the initiatives that are under
way at the present time. However, he feels that the organization will benefit
from single leadership at this point and has stepped down to allow that
to happen."
Dr. Sutcliffe will remain with OCI/PMH to assist the organization with the
transition to new leadership which will be provided by Dr. Alan Hudson as
President and Chief Executive Officer of the joint oncology program between
the Ontario Cancer Institute/Princess Margaret Hospital and The Toronto
Hospital.
